Planning Commission

The Planning Commission has five members, appointed by the Board of Supervisors and serve a four year term. Each member of the commission represents one of the five districts in Craig County. The Planning Commission acts as an advisory board to the Board of Supervisors on all planning and development issues. The commission also assures that the general plan is implemented by reviewing development applications on a case-by-case basis.

Every five years, the Planning Commission reviews the 5 year Comprehensive Plan for Craig County. The plan provides a vision for the future of the community along with the steps that are needed to make that vision a reality. It is the basis for land use regulations and provides a connection between the community’s future vision and the regulation of private property. The Planning Commission has recently completed the 2023 Comprehensive Plan attached below.
